20th September
I have enjoyed this lesson because was very informative and we have the opportunity to learn about the history of art.
The topic that interested me more was Architecture. I have picked up few styles that I like the most and could inspire me for my next projects. These are Classicism, Art Noveau, Modernism, Post-Modernism and Contemporary.
I have been impressed hearing of how  Frank Gehry is starting to build his ideas, he crumples a paper and he uses that shape to sketch the building. Another artist that I admire is Zaha Hadid, her style is very contemporary and all of her buildings have got an organic shape which attracts me with this unique character. Circle in Zurich airport was the building that impressed me the most through its shape and scale.

27th September
In contextual studies we have explored fashion and different aspects of it. I found the lesson very inspiring as a lot of fashion elements are introduced in architecture and interior design and I can link it to my future career.

Sanderson hotel is one of the hotel that has got a luxurious interior design with elements from fashion. Long time ago there was only one model of shirt for men and women and it was T-shape,it was also straight and patterned. Doing research about Sanderson I found out that the interior is inspired by surrealism fashion where they combine fashion features into furniture., including the coloured patterns on the wall. Fashion has a close link with architecture and furniture as they all were designed for a purpose  and it depended on the social class as well. So if you were reach you would only have expensive textiles and a variety of colours and if you were poor you would only have access to few of the materials in a very less colours.

11th October

In today's lesson, we have spoken about Graphics and advertising. It is not something I would like to do in the future but it could be a source of inspiration for my interior design projects, as it has a lots of styles that I found them interesting and some of their elements( eg. art deco).

Leonardo da Vinci artwork

His artwork is a source of inspiration for my outcome. Because of the quirky colours it links to decay.Da Vinci's  work is defined by thinest lines which look like drypoint technique. I also like the textured background and the soft lines or marks on it.

Interior Design

I have found a really good source of inspiration which is the book above. I have found that some artists are getting inspired by random and non traditional  things. For example one of the artists shapes the buildings from collages. And they have all got asymethrical forms and some of them are very organic.

I have drawn few design of the staircase that I have been inspired by natural forms such as shells, pyramids and simple stones.

I also would like to do some technical drawings when designing or recreating staircase as this is what my portfolio should include as well. And this book has got many examples of not only 3D skills but also quick sketches and technical drawings.

Student's work from Chelsea college of arts (Interior and spatial Design).....Open Day

Magazine Design

I am inspired by Ella Decor magazine as they have got beautiful designs of different spaces. Mostly of them are very contemporary and futuristic. I like how designers use the colors scheme and mix the colors.

I like this idea how they use the stairs to make it a part of the building by not being functional but only celebrate the design of it. It is an unusual shape of the building that makes it look futuristic and interpreted in many ways. Also this maquette could be made by using foam board or card board.
I like the aspect of the building that looks more like a sculpture rather than a functional building.

When visiting Chelsea college of arts I had the opportunity to see other students' work and I have been impressed how good their work was even from 1st year. They all have a good understanding about scale and perspective and this is something I am working on and trying to improve. They also use tracing paper to create the floor plans which look very accurate. Most of the work has been done digitally.
